1. Italy
Official certification is required that the products comply fully with the health and quarantine regulations of the Italian Ministry of Health Decrees of 14 October 1981 and 6 August 1982 and that the oxygen consumption is less than 20 mg /100 g. In the wake of an outbreak of bird flu, authorities are also required to certify that the batch of products has been treated with steam and other methods to ensure that pathogens are not transmitted. With effect from 1 January 2008, the Ministry of Health has promulgated new regulations on health certificates, which require all feather down and its products to indicate on the veterinary certificate provided that: The imported feather down has been processed as follows: 1. Hair splitting; 2. Dust removal; 3. Initial wash; 4. Rinse; 5. Dehydration; 6. In the appropriate pressure vessel after 120-140℃, 2-3 atmospheres steam drying for more than 60 minutes.
2. Japan and Indonesia
The requirements for veterinary certificates in the two countries are basically similar, requiring official proof that:
This batch of products came from safe and non-epidemic areas;
Wash with detergent and water for more than 60 minutes;
In the steam dryer after 120℃ high temperature drying 30 minutes;
Fumigation with formalin for more than 17 hours after packaging;
To certify that the feather and down complied with the animal protection provisions of the Washington Treaty.
3. The United States
Only official certification that the product came from a safe, non-infected area is required. But our down bedding exported to California and Maryland requires manufacturers to have an official disinfection license number from that state and to make labels that say, "This product has been sterilized and complies with state law." In addition, down products exported to the United States after the outbreak of avian influenza are required to be well washed and free of dander, feces and blood.
4. South Korea and North Korea
Require official certification:
This batch of products came from safe and non-epidemic areas;
In the steam dryer after 123℃ high temperature drying 30-40 minutes;
After packaging, fumigate with formalin for more than 17 hours.
5. Germany and Netherlands
Require official certification:
This batch of products came from safe and non-epidemic areas;
Wash with detergent and water for more than 60 minutes;
In the steam dryer after 123℃ high temperature drying 30-40 minutes;
When the product is dry and clean.
6. United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark and Hong Kong
Require official certification:
This batch of products by detergent and water washing more than 30 minutes;
In the steam dryer after 123℃ high temperature drying 30 minutes;
After packaging and fumigation with formalin;
It requires proof that the feather and down comply with the animal protection provisions of the Washington Treaty. After the outbreak of bird flu, the British side, based on the original certificate, required officials to certify that the product came from a safe non-infected area and that the product was pre-washed to remove faecal contamination.
7. Hungary
Require official certification:
Within 30 days prior to shipment, birds from the origin of feather feather for plush are not infected with infectious diseases or O.I.E Class A infectious diseases of that animal;
This batch of plush animals are slaughtered in designated slaughterhouses stipulated by the state. The slaughter process is supervised by veterinarians and the animals are checked as healthy before and after slaughter.
No O.I.E Class A infectious disease of the animal has occurred within 30 km from the feather processing and storage site during the past 6 months.
8. Spain
Require official certification:
This batch of products came from safe and non-epidemic areas;
Wash with detergent and water for 30 minutes;
In the steam dryer after 123℃ high temperature drying 30 minutes;
It requires proof that the feather and down comply with the animal protection provisions of the Washington Treaty.
9. Belgium
To go to the official certification:
This batch of down is washed with detergent and dried and disinfected at 100-105℃ and dry enough to absorb moisture;
The dosage of potassium permanganate and formalin was 15 mm /m3 and 17 mm /m3, respectively, after 24 hours of fumigation in a closed room.
Oxygen consumption of 100 grams of product is less than 20 mg.
10. Viet Nam and Myanmar
Require official certification:
This batch of products from safe non-epidemic areas, and also marked 100 grams of product oxygen consumption.
11. South Africa
Require official certification:
This batch of products came from safe and non-epidemic areas;
The batch of feather down after 120℃ high temperature humid heat disinfection for at least 20 minutes;
12. China's Taiwan area
The export of down from the mainland to Taiwan did not require a veterinary certificate, but after the SARS outbreak in 2003, the export of down began to require an official veterinary certificate, which is as follows:
Certify that this batch of products have been fumigated in a closed room above 20℃ for more than 24 hours before packaging, and the dosage of potassium permanganate and formalin is 22 mm /m3 and 13 mm /m3, respectively;
After disinfection, this batch of products is not mixed with unwashed raw velvet from the same source.
13. Some other countries
There are also requirements to issue veterinary health certificate to prove that the export of down and its products filling material in the process of washing or formaldehyde fumigation, more in some European countries.
